Welcome! I'm an evolutionary biologist and bioinformatician with a broad interest in biodiversity, genomics, and speciation. My research integrates genetic, morphological, and ecological data to answer questions guided by natural history. Much of my work is centered on North American freshwater fishes, but I have also dabbled in anoles, frogs, and even copepods!
I completed my PhD in the Ecology and Evolutionary Biology Department at Yale University. I was later awarded a National Science Foundation Postdoctoral Research Fellowship in Biology to study the genomics of parallel evolution at the State University of New York at Buffalo.
Most recently, I was a Research Biologist with the NOAA National Marine Fisheries Service. Based at the Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History, I helped develop voucher-based eDNA reference libraries and harmonize genomic workflows.
